ased on the oil painting “Kerze” (Candle) from 1982, albeit inverted. Richter originally used the motif for the poster of his solo exhibition at the Mönchehaus Museum of Modern Art in Goslar in 1988. Instead of the white printed writing, a large handwritten signature was now placed across the sheet. Published by the Verein zur Förderung moderner Kunst e. V. (at the Mönchehaus Museum of Modern Art), Goslar. [JS]. • Inspired by Richter"s famous painting “Kerze” (1982). • His paintings, “Kerze” (1982) and “Betty” (1988), are considered icons of the 20th century. • For 21 years, Richter has been ranked as the world"s most important artist by Art Compass. • Gerhard Richter"s works can be found in leading international museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Tate Modern, London .
